NJCU Accreditations and Memberships

New Jersey City University is accredited through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.  This means that the University and its programs have met the highest academic standards. NJCU programs also have the following accreditations or memberships:

  • New Jersey City University is a member of the American Association of Colleges and Universities and the National Collegiate Athletic Association
  • The NJCU School of Business is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)
  • The NJCU Arts and Media Arts Programs in the William J. Maxwell College of Arts and Sciences are approved by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design
  • NJCU’s Music Education Program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music
  • The NJCU Nursing Program is accredited by the National League for Nursing
  • The NJCU School Psychology Program is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists
  • The NJCU Instructional and Leadership Programs in the Deborah Cannon Partridge Wolfe College of Education is accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC)
  • All NJCU education programs are approved by the New Jersey State Department of Education
  • The NJCU Counseling program, also in the College of Education, is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)
  • NJCU is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students
